The PLSC organizes and sponsors various events throughout the year. Some recent events are listed below as information for members, prospective members, and other persons interested in PLSC activities.

These past events are listed with the most recent first.

  • Hunter Education Course
    • Dates: Saturday & Sunday, 6 & 7 Sept 2025
                (Students must attend both days)
    • Times: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM both days
    • Location: PLSC Clubhouse and ranges
                (3.4 miles west of Chassell on the Chassell-Painesdale Rd)

  • PLSC Work Bee - Spring 2025
    • Date: May 10, 2024, Saturday
    • Time: 9 AM to 1 PM
    • Location: PLSC Ranges and Clubhouse
    • Many volunteers are needed. There is plenty of work to be done.
    • Free Food (for Working Volunteers)
    • Email dated May 9 to club members from PLSC Secretary describe tasks and goals of the Work Bee


  • Membership Meeting and Annual Business Meeting of the PLSC
    • Date: Thursday, February 20, 2025
    • Location: Gino's Restaurant, Hancock, MI
    • Time: 6 PM - Social Hour & Pizza, etc.
               7 PM -Annual business meeting

  • Members Meeting
    • Date:  Saturday, October 26, 2024
    • Location:  PLSC Clubhouse
    • Time:  1:30 PM EDT
    • An important meeting of club members regarding safety incident will take place immediately after sight-in day activities and lunch.


  • Deer Rifle Sight-in Day
    • Date:  Saturday, October 26, 2024
    • Location:  PLSC
    • Time:  9:30 AM to 1:30 PM EDT
    • Assistance and use of sighting-in equipment is available until 1:30 PM.
    • Free lunch will be served in the clubhouse at 12:30 PM.
    • Public is welcome. Club grounds will be open to both members and non-members. Bring a friend! Spouses and children are welcome too! Inexperienced hunters/shooters are also welcome.
    • No fees.
    • Volunteers will be available to help answer questions you may have about shooting or firearm deer hunting.

  • Beginning Trapping Workshop
    • Date: Saturday, 5 October 2024
    • Location: PLSC Clubhouse
    • Time: 10 AM - 3 PM
    • Description: Instruction for trapping animals safely and humanely.
    • No fees. Free lunch.
    • For adults and kids age 10 and older. Limited to 20 students, but any PLSC members will be accommodated. Pre-registration required.

  • Informal M-1 Garand Shoot
    • Date: May 11, 2024, Saturday
    • Time: 1 PM until ?? PM
    • Location: PLSC Covered Range
    • Description: The club's M-1 rifles will be made available for informal shooting at the gongs on the range. A free clip of ammo will be available for all Work Bee volunteers. Volunteers and other members are invited to bring their own rifles and try out the newly-installed gongs.


  • Multi-Gun Shoot
    • Date:  Saturday, 28 October 2023; Saturday
    • Time:  9 AM to 2 PM, EDT
    • Location:  PLSC Ranges
    • Admission:  Open to any safe shooter.
    • Entry Fee:  $15
    • Pre-registration:  Participants in this event are required to pre-register.

  • Steel Challenge Shoot

  • Training Course: Stop the Bleed
    • Date: Thursday, September 7, 2023
    • Location: PLSC Clubhouse
    • Time: 6 - 8 PM
    • Description: This course will cover basic first aid for severe bleeding. The course is offered by local medical professionals.
    • Fee: None. The course is free and open to the public.
